What does your Inner Child want to say?
Come and see...
Hello! These newsletters/missives/rants are reader-supported. If you want to support my work as I continue to write about the lesser-discussed, less-palatable stories of womanhood — and support others as they tell their stories — please consider becoming a paid subscriber.
Bonjour!
A quick note to say: LET’S MAKE _ TOGETHER CLOSES THIS WEDNESDAY!
Thanks to the lovely folk who have emailed their niggles and questions (letsmakeblanktogether@gmail.com - I am here for them all) — and I thought I would clarify:
Lots of the folk who have signed up won’t be able to make all the live Wednesday calls, but this time - for the first time in my educator-work - I am recording the Zoom calls.
This will allow you to set a timer for 90 minutes at another point in your week, log in and watch, do the meditation and prompts, and allocate time to do the tasks outlined at the end of each chapter of The Artist’s Way. We will also have a closed WhatsApp group for sharing breakthroughs, burdens and synchronicities.
When was the last time you hung out with your Inner Child? They’re the ones who are going to come out to play over the next 14 weeks during Let’s Make _ Together. They need to be gently coaxed and nurtured. Being in a supportive community whilst you hang out with them — perhaps for the first time in decades — is going to be pretty magical.
Little Catrin is excited.
It feels hard to invite you all in to do this work when (let’s face it) it can feel like dystopia out there. But this is precisely when artists go to work, when art needs to get made. Creating is inherently hopeful. It say, I see the genocide and the ethnic cleansing, and I write about the turning of the season anyway.
As with all of my work, you do not need to be a writer-artist-maker to take part and get a huge amount from this programme. Scientists, we want your stories! Architects, we want your art! Mechanics, we want your music! Doctors, we want your drawings! (etc etc.)
(And same goes for The New Mothers’ Writing Circle; no writing experience is necessary. If you can speak, you can write. And if you can’t speak — if the words lodge in your throat — then writing is needed more than ever. I have 1 spot left on the Thursday cohort for mums of children aged 2 - 5, starting on 25th Sept for 8 weeks).
A bientôt,
Catrin.
